RanthamboreThe Ranthambore National Park, the hunting ground of the erstwhile Maharajas of Jaipur, lies where the Aravalli Hills and the Vindhyan Plateau merge together in the eastern Rajasthan. The Chambal River in the South and the Banas River in the North drain the Park. The beauty of the six man-made lakes and many perennial streams makes tours to Ranthambore more enchanting. Ranthambore Sanctuary was elevated to the status of a National Park in 1984. It was one of the 8 Tiger Reserve in India, when Project Tiger started in 1972.
