looks inviting to walk on bare-footed shaded by the
coconut palms all along the shore. The beach is spread
from Bogmalo in the north to Cabo de Rama in the south.
The Colva Beach was once the popular weekend getaway

came to Colva for the "Mundanca" meaning 'Change of
Air'. Explore the beautiful houses or villas scattered
all around the village, which are the mute witnesses

Dona Paula Beach
Dona Paula Beach is comparatively small beach but is
very popular for the beach sports activities. This beach
has been named after a girl called Dona Paula de Menzes
who was the daughter of a Viceroy in colonial India.
There is also a popular folktale about her that she
fell in love with a local fisherman named Gaspar Dias.
When she was not allowed by her father to marry him,
she committed suicide by falling off a cliff. The locals
believe that Dona Paula is inhumed in the Cabo Chapel
of the Raj Bhawan and comes out from the waves lit by
moonlight wearing only a pearl necklace. Many tourists
are attracted to this beach by this story and hope to
see Dona Paula in the moonlight.
