Khajuraho
Temples Tours will take you on a journey to the most
well known temples of India-the Khajuraho Group of Temples.
these are located in the Bundelkhand region in Madhya
Pradesh. The temples represent the zenith of the north
Indian style of temple architecture. Along with being
famous for their fully evolved architectural styles,
the Khajuraho temples are also known for the series
of erotic sculptures and carvings on the temples. The
Chandela kings built the Khajuraho group of temples
from the 950 AD to 1050 AD. The Khajuraho Temples are
listed in the UNESCO's World Heritage Site.
Khajuraho gradually lost its position of significance
and by the 16th century AD was rather a small village.
Thick jungles of khajur or date trees surrounded the
temples, which eventually gave the place its name. A
British engineer, T.B. Burt, who visited the site in
1838 AD, discovered the temples. Of the original 85
temples only 22 are left today. The temples are conspicuously
famous for the erotic art on the walls of the temple
even though these carvings represent only about 10%
of the total ornamentations.
The Khajuraho Temples are broadly categorized into
3 groups, namely, Western, Eastern and Southern Groups.

Khajuraho Temple Tour takes you to the Western Group

and Parsvanath Temple are included in this group.
